Scripture

Ezekiel 47:1-48:35; 1 Peter 2:11-3:7; Psalm 119:49-64; Proverbs 28:12-13

Observation

“Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day He visits us. …For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish men.” 1 Peter 2:12, 15

“He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live to righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed. For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.” 1 Peter 2:24-25

“Your beauty should not come from outward adornment …Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. 1 Peter 3:3, 4

Application

I should not be surprised when people try and find fault with my life. But, my actions and behavior should honor God to such an extent that others will glorify Him and seek after Him. The best way to silence irrational criticism about our behavior is by living a life that defies earthly (human) explanation.

Prayer

“Lord, help me to live a life that honors You and draws others to You.”
